Like most folks, when I first got my start online, I was not sure how to get people to visit my site.  My website was up and ready to receive viewers but no one knew where I was.  I thought just getting your site up and allowing the search engines to find you was all that I had to do.

Ok, so I admit I was a bit of a novice when I first got started.  I knew how to get a site up but had no clue how to get people to come see it aside from giving the web address to everyone I knew.  That got me a few clicks but nothing to sneeze at.  I had seen another marketer use newspaper ads to generate traffic to his site.  So I tried it myself.  I spent $100 and placed a small ad in the local paper.  In return I received maybe five visitors if that much.  I don’t know about you but I could have used that $100 to buy gas for my car for a few weeks.  I felt I let myself down.  My disappointment withered into despair the more time went on with no hits to my site despite one or two here and there all the while noticing how other sites just seemed to have all the visitors they wanted. 

I came across many programs and courses that offered to teach me the tools.  I bought a few of those and was less than satisfied with the results.  They just did not deliver on their promises and quite often I was left with a feeling that I was not being told everything.  Don’t you just hate that feeling of being jerked around?
